Putting physical injury towards yourself is self harm. Many people just do it in a different way. Some cut, some pluck their hair, some binge eat, etc.

So to answer your question, burning yourself is self harm.

Burning is self harm.
And I'm not sure as I have never burned myself with a lighter, however I have burnt myself with an eraser. I think the outcome is the same but it depends on what suits the person who harms themselves.

Burning yourself is self harm yes. In fact I started self harming by burning. I was only started cutting 3 months into the total time i've been self harming.

However you're hurting yourself it's still self harm and is still addictive.

As for the difference between using a lighter and an eraser i'd imagine they're different. Eraser burning is burning from the heat produced by friction, which is likely to be less than the heat released from a flame. I never burnt with either.

As for why people do both i've found they give different releases, and I guess it's personal preference.

Yes burning is self harm and about a year ago me and my friends burned ourselves cause we were stressed we found it to help. Idk why it did but it relaxed us. We dont do it anymore i guess we've grown out of it, one of my friends still cuts himself here and there but nothing to serious.

I have three eraser burn scars on my left hand from earlier this year. Yes, it is a form of self harm. A lot of people do it as a game to see how bad it could get. ( At least at my old school ), and some do it to hurt themselves.

If you're intentionally hurting yourself, it's self-harm.

Heya!
Ya, eraser burning is self harm.
It was what i did most. It was the most painful thing EVER! And it takes ages to heal.
It did the trick for me but it has left marks.
If you are up for the pain, go for it. But think about it first!
