So let's just say I'm curious toward not straight things. I used to go on some gay sites, and I did again today. What's the chances of my dad knowing how to access the browsing history using the router? Is it easy? He knows a little bit about technology, he's probably okay at technology but he isn't a Guru. I wanna make sure it's hard to access its history. If its a frustrerating process he wouldn't go through it, but if he has to research a little about it he would. He is very busy all the time. So he mostly has time during the night.

So I make it clear. He doesn't go on my computer and snoop me and my mom and dad have separate MacBooks of our own that we use. My dad believes in privacy but I know he would look at the history or see how he can. So he doesn't ever go on our computers, especially cuss it's locked. However I know it's possible to check the sites that's been entered using his computer and the router. I'm just wanting to know is it a hard process? Do you have to know technology super well? (technology as in computer use and wireless routers). What's the chances he would know how to?

I believe we have a linksys but I'm unsure. Last time I checked we had linksys, but about six months ago we had to get a new one.

It's difficult to do it if you are an adult that's not very good with tech, but a simple google search you can find out anything just be aware of that and you should be good.

Under most home routers it is not possible.

Your ISP does keep a record of what you go on. It would be simple for your dad to contact them.

Does he have any parental controls setup with your provider?

Sometimes the router access logs show what outbound IPs have been accessed. If that is a case, a simple whois query would reveal what sites have been visited.

You can acces browsing info through the actual computer all i have to do is go to Settings > View Browsing History.

Provided you actually read the first post in this thread, you would have seen that:

This.

But I'm fairly certain logging is disabled by default on most routers, and as far as I know, the router will only store the most recent ~25 IP addresses.

Well what the guy before me said makes me feel better. Hopefully it only does 25 ;)

Hopefully

Yeah I'm normally the person in the house going through our router and our one never seems to log a lot. As for ISPs some do look through your history in the UK and Ireland but loads of them have been brought to courts and stuff so it would be unlikely he could just call the ISP and who would go to the bother of going through customer services?
