View Full Version : Please help! Is it possible I could bulk up by summer time?

So I'm 134 lb. of skin and bones. I started working out in August, but it's been off and on. I tried to do P90X 2x but I keep stopping (about 4 weeks each time, so 2 months all together), I just started doing it again and this time I'm serious. P90X will build muscle and slim me down, after P90X I want to focus on just bulking up. I will be done with P90X in Early April. Football will start in July (I think) and I want to be in good enough shape to join Football.

I'll be a Junior by the time I join my schools Football team, and I have no experience. Other than playing Football with friends. But whenever we would play, I'd end up getting hurt somehow (twisted ankle, sprained wrist, then I always hear ringing in my ears). A goal I have in Football is to learn to run really fast and catch the ball good. How do I do that? Will P90X help me to run fast?

Here's info about me:
134 lb.
16 year old Teenage Guy
5 foot 8-9 Inches
About 10%-14% Body Fat

So here's what I want to know:
1. How can I become better at catching and run faster when I don't have anyone to help me?
2. Will P90X help me to run faster?
3. How do I learn how to play Football?
4. MOST IMPORTANTLY: How do I bulk up so I can play Football?
5. How long will it take to bulk up enough to play Football (after P90X)?

My parents don't know I want to play Football because of two reasons: They don't think I like it, and because I haven't told them.

6. What should be my diet for workout days, and non-workout days?
7. Any tips?

Run more. Catch more. Talk to a coach and ask for help.

2. Will P90X help me to run faster?
Not if you don't stick with it. Honestly, go outside and walk. Then work your way up to running/sprinting. Why waste money on something you can do for free?

Talk.to.a.coach. Do strength exercises (like push-ups, pull-ups, squats...) and eat right (no processed shit. Only healthy fats and protein).
5. How long will it take to bulk up enough to play Football (after P90X)?
Different for everyone.
6. What should be my diet for workout days, and non-workout days?
Meat. Eggs. Fish. Vegetables. Fruit. Nuts. Healthy fats.
7. Any tips?
