In addition to the 100 post requirement for PMs

There should also be a membership requirement. You also have to be a member for...a week. so say you join today. in a week you'll be able to PM if you have 100 posts as well

some people are spamming to 100 posts. and/or bumping old threads. they might be doing it just for the purpose of PMing

it's not a big requirement so I see no point in complaining

note: this is just a suggestion. probably won't be implemented or whatever but just wanted to throw out this suggestion

if they get to 100 posts in one day - the day they join, they're able to PM. some members, just some, not all, might be doing it just to PM. and if they have to wait an extra day.....

It allows mods and admin to have a better idea of a users character, and then subsequently (if required) stop a user from sending PM's

I can see where you are coming from. I like the idea but I think an extra day may make no difference. I would suggest something slightly longer, EG a weeek, in order to let Mods see what kind of person you are

hmm I guess a week would work. if someone with less than 100 posts wants to talk to someone then, and just joined, they would just have to use VM.

A week is actually an interesting suggestion, I think that would be a good amount of time. Because lets say the member feels like spamming, but is a little lazy...
