View Full Version : What are the chances of my parents knowing?

So I jerk off to gay porn at times. And I used to do it until I stopped. A reason why I stopped was because I'm scared my parents found out or could. Can they see wht websites I've accessed through the router?
What are the chances they have seen?
Is the process long? (to see what sites I've been on?
My parents aren't so savvy with computers and stuff. But my dad knows a lot more than my mom. But he doesnt know as much as me. But they've been really busy lately doing homework (they are teachers and they have to give a huge test so they are preparing for it)
Thanks!

I... no idea why you're talking with yourself...
It is probably possible for your parents to find out if they really wanted to, but they'd need to be pretty damn good with technology (I think of myself as above average in that department and I wouldn't even know where to begin) and it would likely be a drawn out process. So it's fairly unlikely that they've actually seen or have the ability to find out so don't worry about it - also if you do a bit of research into how to do it you might be able to work out if they ultimately could.

On our computer, my parents are the "administrators" so I think they can access everyone else's documents and stuff as well. They could probably find my browsing history, but I usually clear it.

I have my own laptop, but I clear everything off of it. But I don't mow about checking the router.

lol really your "above average" with technology but yet dont know wear to begin on how to delete your internet history?
all teens should know how to get there browsing history off there computer for obvious reasons.
1. clear history (google your browser name if unsure where it is) firefox is like this; click the firefox button in top left of your browser, click clear history.
2. delete cookies (once again google if unsure how to with your browser) fire fox same as step one but select cookies on the drop down box.
3. downloaded files, delete them, empty the recycle bin.
also if you have lots of downloaded porn you wish to keep, hide it on your computer move it all to one folder, and name that folder something weird, on pc you can even change how the folder looks, so instead of being a folder icon you can make it a X or a floppy drive icon or what ever you want. just hide the folder some where were kno one would think to look.
that should easily be enough to fool any parent snooping around, but if you want to do over board or want a fresh start on your computer google "nuke'em" it will delete your whole hardive or just reset your computer to factory settings.
hope this helped, every one should know how to to this.

It depends on how you do it. If you erase your browsing history after your done, you should be OK. If you use Google Chrome, you can do an Ignacio window (Shift-Control-N in Google Chrome) and nothing will be saved onto your computer.
As for the router, I don't think it's possible to look at what websites you have been on. It depends on what model your parents have, but usually it just keeps a log of successes and failures. As far as I know, it only records the address of the computers connecting (e.g - 192.168.1.92 connected).
If you are really, really desperate, you could re-set the router, which would erase both the log and the administrator stuff. Most of the time there is a small hole on the back of the router. If you just stick a paper clip edge into it, it will re-set the router. This could, however, shut off the whole internet connection, and your dad would have to fix it. That would probably make him suspicious.

i wouldn't worry about the router lol, its all a bunch of ip address coming and going traffic, its not going to say little jimmy visited xxx.com and there wont be any links to naked women or men on your router, dont worry about it lol..

nothing to do with your router at all. just clear cookies and browser history like said above. oh and btw just because u delete the history doesnt mean that google or any search engine or youtube will forget your searches. all it take i think is to hit the down arrow with the cursor in the typing box and BAM all recent searches shows up.

not if you delete the cookies, the cookies hold all that information, once that is gone, websites will take longer to load (websites save pictures/info to help them load faster), all searches gone, all your past involvement is gone.

What are the chances they have seen?
Not likely, unless they've brought it up with you. Have they been acting suspicious around you lately? Or maybe extra nice? Some parents do that so that you slip up and they catch you.
Is the process long? (to see what sites I've been on?
Not at all, really. All they have to do is open your internet history by hitting CTRL + H, and they can see everything. Maybe try deleting your history after you finish. Also, download google chrome. It has a feature called "incognito" browsing, which doesn't create entries in History. It also doesn't download any cookies. It is also possible to see the websites visited through the router. What I do is use a proxy. I can't give the link, but I use one that "obfuscates" the URL. So basically the link becomes letters and numbers.
Hope this post helped!

Lol, I mean the router. I already know about the cookies, cache, can't history, and clearing the web history of google. I mean the router. Where it says all websites visited wher it has ip addresses and crap like that.

It takes a lot of know-how and determination to find them through the router and even then most routers tend to clear themselves every couple of days anyway.
I wouldn't worry about it. They'd have to know what they're looking for.

I was going to save my 5000th post for something slightly more significant than this but your distinct lack of the ability to read correctly meant that I just had to post...
I wasn't referring to clearing my internet history; I was, however, referring to how to view internet history directly through the router or some device connected to the router, which is what the OP actually asked about. Also, I don't need to clear my internet history as most people shouldn't because there's this wonderful thing called Incognito browsing (InPrivate, Private, Hidden etc.) which basically means that nothing is permanently saved from any website visited whilst in incognito.

Something I could suggest is "never forget to clear browsing data".
