Starting to shave?

I'm 16 and I really need to start shaving. For people that have started, how did you start? If you asked your dad, was it awkward? And if so, how did you get around that awkwardness? Thanks :)

Just talk to your dad. He'll get you a razor and give you some basic pointers.

Well...I didn't have money, so I "borrow" a razor and used some shaving cream that we had in the bathroom. Taught myself. Sorry, can't help with the dad thing.

Initially I just used my dads razor, I did that for a few months and eventually he came to me and said that he'd bought be all the stuff I needed. He didn't offer any advice or anything because it's pretty intuitive and basic stuff.

My sister said I needed to shave my mustache one day, so my parents bought me a razor and chaving cream to do it. When my dad got a new electric razor, he gave me his old one to use and its a lot easier. Just ask your dad, it's not that awkward... unless you were talking about shaving your pubes because I would keep that to yourself.
