I am attempting to create an allegory. What do you think the fire symbolizes? What do you think the room the fire is in symbolizes? I'd love to hear opinions, plus I need more ideas.
The Fire
The flicker is enticing.
It shimmers brilliantly in this light.
It is so warm and inviting; it draws me closer.
This fire is all I need, or so it seems at the moment.
Even in a room filled with so many other great things,
I only want this fire.
But you know what they say; if you put your hand in the flame,
you get burned.
And as I take one more step and reach out my hand,
I know exactly what is coming.
And I don't care.
