Just thought about it recently. Whats the saddest song any of you have ever heard? Or whats a song that just makes you sad when you listen to it?
For me, for some reason, its Toy Soldiers by Eminem. Its just something to do with those children singing that does it for me
Or yesterday by the beatles

Idk... I have to say that when ever I hear Ready to Fall by Rise Against I have to really try to prevent myself from sheading a tear, but I only started to get emotional from hearing that after I saw the video... But yeah its pretty sad and emotional for me. Just for the hell of it, heres a link to it (although I've probably posted this a few other times in other threads/forums): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dScutbJpHoA&mode=related&search=

lol how is that song sad? its about changes in government and equality.
plus, he'd be the first to change to the new systems...right? lol.
that doesnt matter, its your own opinion if its a sad song but nvm...we dont need to debate.
EDIT
saddest song for me: Adam's Song, by Blink 182
a fan sent them a letter of their best friend who committed suicide. attached to the letter was the actual suicide note of the fan's friend, whose favorite band was Blink. Then, the band made a memorialistic tributic song out of it. The song contains actual verses from the letter and i thought that it was cool of them to do that.
its just a deep meaning kind of song that i think truly, and literally is the saddest song, because it was made out of a fan's suicide letter.

I just think it's sad, because it's IMAGINING changes in government and equality, but at the same time talking of the anguish, and lack of in our world. Plus the song has such a somber tone. I don't see how it could be viewed as happy?

I've heard it before and didn't think it as a sad song..till now when I heard it thirty seconds ago. Awhile back I told someone very special to me that I would always be there for him, through all of his problems..even though we live so far away from each other..but a few days ago I tried to kill myself and nearly succeeded and almost broke my promise to him. Hearing the song was bittersweet
I will never let you fall
I'll stand up with you forever
I'll be there for you through it all

God, there is new song that just makes me sad. It is called "Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now", but I don't know who it's from. The song makes me cry every single time I listen to it. I just listened to it, so, uh, I'm kinda crying right now.
Here are the lyrics:
Looking in your eyes, I see a paradise.
This world that I found is too good to be true.
Standing here beside you, I want so much to give you this love in my heart that im feeling for you
Let them say we're crazy.
I don't care about that.
Put your hand in my hand, baby, don't ever look back.
Let the world around us just fall apart.
Maybe we can make it if we're heart to heart.
And we can build this thing together, stand in stone forever, nothing's gonna stop us now.
And if this world runs out of lovers we'll still have eachother.
Nothing's gonna stop us, nothing's gonna stop us now.
I'm so glad I found you, I'm not gonna lose you, whatever it takes to stay here with you.
Take it too the good times, see it through the bad times.
Whatever it takes is what I'm gonna do.
Let them say we're crazy.
What do they know?
Put your arms around me, baby, don't ever let go.
Let the world around us just fall apart.
Baby, we can make it if we're heart to heart.
Oh, all that I need is you.
All that I ever need.
All that I want to do is hold you forever, forever and ever.
And we can build this thing together, stand in stone forever, nothing's gonna stop us now.
And if this world runs out of lovers we'll still have eachother.
Nothing's gonna stop us, nothing's gonna stop us now.
And we can build this thing together, stand in stone forever, nothing's gonna stop us now.
And if this world runs out of lovers we'll still have eachother.
Nothing's gonna stop us, nothing's gonna stop us now
--------------------------------------------------------
The reason the song makes me so sad is because it desribes the feelings I feel for the girl I really love, and how much I want to be with her, and the song itself just makes me think about her. :(

Saddest Song Ive Ever Heard is Hands Held High - Linkin Park
Turn my
mic up louder I got to say somethin.
Lightweights step it aside when we come in
Feel it in your chest, the syllables get pumpin
People on the street they panic and start running.
Words on loose leaf sheet complete coming.
I jump in my mind and summon the rhyme i'm dumping.
Healing the blind I promise to let the sun in
Sick of the dark ways we march to the drum and
Jump when they tell us that they wanna to see jumping.
F**k that, I wanna see some fist pumping.
risk something, take back what's yours
say something that you know they might attack you for
cause I'm sick of being treated like I have before
like it's stupid standing for what I'm standing for.
Like this war's really just a different brand of war.
Like it doesn't cater to rich and abandon poor.
Like they understand you in the back of the jet, when you
can't put gas in your tank, and these f**kers are
laughing their way to the bank, cashing the check
asking you to have compassion, AND have SOME respect
for a leader so nervous in an obvious way
Stuttering and mumbling for nightly news to replay
and the rest of the world watching at the end of the day
in the living room laughing like "what did he say?"
Amen, Amen, Amen, Amen, Amen
In my living room watching, I am not laughing,
Cause when it gets tense I know what might happen
The world is cold, the bold men take action
have to react or get blown into fractions.
Ten years old, it's something to see,
another kid my age drug under a jeep,
taken and bound, and found later under a tree,
I wonder if he had thought the next one could be me.
Do you see, the soldiers, they're out today they
Brush the dust from bulletproof vests away.
It's ironic, at times like this you pray,
but a bomb blew the mosque up yesterday.
There's bombs on the buses, bikes, roads,
inside your market, your shops, your clothes,
My dad, He's got a lot of fear I know
but enough pride inside not to let that show.
My brother had a book he would hold with pride
A little red cover with a broken spine.
On the back, he hand wrote a quote inside:
"when the rich wage war, it's the poor who die"
And meanwhile, the leader just talks away
Stuttering and mumbling for nightly news to replay
and the rest of the world watching at the end of the day
both scared and angry like "what did he say?"
Amen, Amen, Amen, Amen, Amen.
With hands held high into a sky so blue
as the ocean opens up to swallow you.
With hands held high into a sky so blue
as the ocean opens up to swallow you.
With hands held high into a sky so blue
as the ocean opens up to swallow you.
With hands held high into a sky so blue
as the ocean opens up to swallow you.
With hands held high into a sky so blue
as the ocean opens up to swallow you.
With hands held high into a sky so blue
as the ocean opens up to swallow you.

I quite literally cried when I heard this song, it was/is so perfect for how I felt at the time. :/
Dancing Dirt Into The Snow
Missy Higgins
Alone you find yourself just hanging,
and to fill the hole you cling to all that seems,
to hide the little girl that crying,
underneath the rage that you let others see.
'Cause you're dancing dirt into the snow
while others look at you on show.
You're dancing dirt into the snow
while all around you people grow
And watch you bleed.
And watch you bleed.
So now you look at me, eyes wooden.
An anchor through your head; crimson for disguise.
An opal for a wound you carry, fairy lights of pleading someone look at me.
'Cause you're dancing dirt into the snow
while others look at you on show.
You're dancing dirt into the snow
while all around you people grow
And watch you bleed.
And watch you bleed.
The more you push through broken glass, the thicker it becomes.
And the more you turn on broken worlds, the sooner you will need.
The more you push through broken glass, the thicker it becomes.
And the more you turn on broken worlds, the sooner you will need
A gun.
'Cause you're dancing dirt into the snow
while others look at you on show.
You're dancing dirt into the snow
while all around you people grow.

I already posted that this was a sad song (Youth of The Nation by P.O.D.).. But here are the lyrics:
Last day of the rest of my life
I wish I would have known cause i'd a kissed my momma good-bye.
I didn't tell her that I loved her or how much cared
or thank my pops for all the talks and all the wisdom he shared.
Unaware I just did what I always do.
Everyday the same routine before I skate off to school
But who knew that this day wasnt like the rest,
Instead of takin the test I took two to the chest.
Call me blind but I didn't see it comin
and everybody was runnin
but I couldn't hear nothin, except
gun blast, it happened so fast
I didn't really know this kid though I sat by him in class.
Maybe this kid was reachin out for love or
maybe for a moment he forgot who he was or
maybe this kid just wanted to be hugged,
whatever it was I know its because
CHORUS
We are, We are(We are)the youth of the nation
We are, We are(We are) youth of the nation
We are, We are(We are)the youth of the nation
We are, We are(We are) youth of the nation
Little Suzzie she was only twelve
She was given the world with every chance to excel
Hang with the boys and hear the stories they tell
She might act kinda proud but no respect for herself
She finds love in all the wrong places
The same situations just different faces.
Changed up her pace since her daddy left her
Too bad he never told her she deserved much better.
Johnny boy always played the fool,
He broke all the rules so you would think he was cool.
He was never really one of the guys
No matter how hard he tried,
Often thought of suicide
It's kinda hard when you ain't got no friends,
He put his life to an end they might remember him then.
You cross a line and there is no turnin back
He told the world how he felt with the sound of a gat.
CHORUS
We are, We are(We are)the youth of the nation
We are, We are(We are) youth of the nation
We are, We are(We are)the youth of the nation
We are, We are(We are) youth of the nation
Who's to blame for the life that tragedies claim?
No matter what you say it won't take away the pain
That I feel inside, I'm tired of all the lies
Don't nobody know why
It's the blind leadin' the blind.
Guess that's the way that the story goes,
Will it ever make sense somebody's gotta know,
There's gotta be more to life than this,
There's got to be more to everything
I thought exists
We are, We are the youth of the nation
We are, We are youth of the nation
We are, We are, (We are, we are) the youth the youth of the nation
We are, We are, (We are, we are) youth the youth of the nation
We are we are(we are) the youth of the nation(the youth of the nation)
We are we are(we are) youth of the nation(the youth of the nation)
We are we are(we are) the youth of the nation(the youth of the nation)
We are we are(we are) youth of the nation(the youth of the nation)
(we are) youth of the nation
(we are) youth of the nation
(we are) youth of the nation, (we are)

December 19th, 2007, 10:34 PM
a fan sent them a letter of their best friend who committed suicide. attached to the letter was the actual suicide note of the fan's friend, whose favorite band was Blink. Then, the band made a memorialistic tributic song out of it. The song contains actual verses from the letter and i thought that it was cool of them to do that.
its just a deep meaning kind of song that i think truly, and literally is the saddest song, because it was made out of a fan's suicide letter.
thats balls. its not even about suicide, if you read blinks book, then you find out its not even about suicide, its actuallly about when the band nearly broke up on a european tour and they made it through. hence 'the tour was over i'd survived, i couldn't wait to go on, you'll be sorry when i gone'
although alot of the lyrics do point to suicide....thats not actually why they wrote the song,
that whole thing about hte letter is reallly bollocks, sorry mate.

Lo De Adentro - El Otro Yo (what's inside - The Other Me) I know this is in Spanish but I'll translate some of it and you'll understand why, this is what I was listening to when I found out my grandpa died...
What's inside of you, is leaving you
going upwards, going upwards
all around you, everybody adores you
Don't go, don't go
beyond the stars, you'll see us
you'll see us, all around you everybody adores you
don't go, don't go (x4)....

Pavarotti - Nessun Dorma
OMG I LOVE THAT SONG. It's also our ballad in my drum corps this season. Ohhh man SO good. Pavarotti didn't write it, though, Puccinni did in his opera Turandot. Pavarotti is just one of the most well-known singers who have performed it.
