The four thousand troops left over in Iraq are there for simple move out procedure. They are all scheduled to be leaving the country on December 31st. We're currently in the process of handing over all of our bases to Iraqi forces. If you don't like it, deal with it. The president is honoring a campaign promise made by George Bush during his second term.

Yes,the war is OVER. All though we shouldn't have had a war in the first place. This may just be with(most) people I know, but they, the ones who keep bitching about Obama not getting the troops out soon enough, are the same ones who wanted to get revenge on who ever caused the collapse of the World Trade Centre ASAP without thinking it through.

Not saying you feel that way, I just know a lot of people who are like that. Besides, Obama can't just take out all the troops within one day.

I think there will be much more wars to come before we come to a World War 3. How ever America complete's its economic cycle is what I see as the catalyst of possible war or not. I say this because a (big) country could be invaded in two ways, while it's on its knees weak, or when it thinks it has everything under control and is star struck by an attack.

Like Gaul pointed out a long time ago there will be many tiny wars broken up and spread instead of one fight in unison. I don't think it will just be nuclear war, nor do I think will it be the fall of man.

It's true that the United States will still have guys "over there" (that is, in the Middle East). And that's a bad thing. However, Iraq itself will left alone, like it should be.

And considering current diplomatic conditions I don't think it's possible to predict World War III. People who like talking about some war between China or Russia and the United States are oversimplifying the situation greatly. There is no diplomatic crisis currently occurring that would trigger such a war.
