'Never Surrender'

It's been a long time,
since I've seen you.
I've forgotten the solace of your voice,
and the sting of your touch.
I listen to my skin scream,
as we say hello.
And I know that I should push you away,
but you're so sweet, I can barely move.
Why must you entice me so,
and leave me with only scars to hide?
This was a mistake.
and I don't know how,
to get out of this mess, this red mess.
And here I am,
sitting on the floor,
trying to pick myself up again.
I have surrendered to you again.
The act is ugly,
but the feeling is beautiful.
The red is warm on my skin,
and I feel so alive.
It feels so great,
to finally breathe.
I know I've made a mistake,
and I can't go back now.
I tried to keep you a secret,
but they can see through me.
You are like a drug,
and I must quit you now.
I made a promise,
and this time I'm keeping it.
This was a mistake.
and I know how,
to get out of this mess, this red mess.
And here I am,
sitting on the floor,
picking myself up again for the last time.
I will never surrender,
to you, again.

That is an amazing poem. I really connect with it. I felt this when I was trying to quit and now I'm trying not to start again.
