Hopefully this is in the right place but...

My teeth ache, braces got tightened today and they still hurt, it's been like ~15 hours since (It's like 3:30 AM) and I had painkillers before, but they still ache.

Advice, help, anything?

While my sister is about to have her braces removed I have learned that if you drink some warm tea it might help. Many braces are made out of Heat-Sensitive metals and exposing them to something cold tightens the braces and vice versa....

Try some hot tea and see where that takes you, if not I am sure you can take some ibuprofen or the equal of it in Australia (Beautiful place btw, was there in 2004) and take a nap, don't talk.

Thanks for the suggestion, I shall try some tea later :3 I have no idea what painkiller I had, but it worked okay I guess. What if I sleep talk? >;sD

What if I sleep talk? >;sD

I have no idea if I am supposed to take that as sarcasm or not but hey man, try it, if you can sleep through it and when you sleep your muscles relax.

I honestly have no idea, I do sleep talk though, so it is a viable question :3 I had a nap before, well I passed out cause I hadn't slept yet. And they still hurt after I woke up :/

You just had someone wrenching around in your mouth,of course it will hurt, just give it some time.

Man up son....BAMM!!!!:P

It wasn't as bad as wrenching, but yeah. Man up? I'd rather not :3

As Robert already said, hot drinks help a lot. Painkillers are worth a try but they never really helped too much for me.

The pain should be gone within a few days :)

Same, it worked for a bit when I used them once. Besides that, they fail ):

Thanks for the help :3

When I had my braces the pain never lasted more than an hour or two tops. Is this normal for you to experience pain for this long after they have been tightned? If its not then I would see your orthadontist as soon as you can. But like the others have said warm drinks and pain killers, although I did find icecream helped me when I first got my braces.

:3 Icecream. Hmmm, it's went down a lot today. I still haven't gotten around to that cup of <insert hot drink name here> Buhhhhhhhhhh I'll get to it someday :3

Yeah I myself just got braces put on myself a few days ago :/ they suck. My pain just stopped and I found other then drugging upon Codeine ;), If you keep sipping water it really helps. This is my second round of braces, least I only have these for less then 12 months.

HAVING THEM TIGHTENED HURT LIKE A MOTHA **** ANYWAYS
