Emotional abuse can be just as hard to deal with as other kinds of abuse.

Mental abuse and emotional abuse are both the same; they are usually called 'psychological abuse'

Like already said, it is possible. I have been emotionally abused in the past, and it's far more common than people think, but also far more difficult to pick up on because there's no physical markings. And it can indeed be as hard to deal with as any other form of abuse

As someone who's experienced all 3 forms, I can say the psychological effects are probably the worse. Then again, physical and sexual abuse create fear, shame, self-loathing, sadness, hopelessness, anxiety, numbness, lack of trust, low self-esteem and so on. It's all linked together. But the harsh words do leave their marks.

It is definitely possible to be emotionally/mentally abused. It generally does take a toll on the lives of the victims and unfortunately less is done about emotional abuse. But sweetie, if it is your parents - it's very much likely that you will never be able to change them. You can't warp whatever anyone else thinks, all you can do is change yourself and learn to cope with and overcome the cruel remarks.

Good luck, sweetpea. <3
