Lately, my mom has really been scaring me. She keeps talking about how she is getting older and older, and she is one step closer to death every day. She talks about how she won't live forever, and that she hopes she doesn't live to old age because she doesn't want to be stuck in a wheelchair eating through a tube. I understand what she is saying, but still; I am only 13, and she's only 50! I cannot imagine what it would be like for her to be gone. I never want her to leave the earth...I would just not have any life anymore. Every time I complain about her talking about those things, she just says "We get older every day. I mean, I'm not going to kill myself or anything, but death sounds nice from this hectic life."

I'm worried. :(

I think the majority of people here, or in the world I guess, wouldn't want their life to well, not have their mum. If that makes sense? I'm used to it though, I had to live without both my parents when I was young. Not the point :3

I guess when adults have lived for so long, they might get tired of life? Possibly. And no one really looks forward to being a cripple or always needing help, but you shouldn't be worried. She is your mum after all, and she still probably has a lot to live for (:

If she starts acting weird, you might want to talk to her about how you feel?

It's a perfectly human reaction/emotion for you to be worrying about your mum. Talking to your mum about your feelings and her feelings could be the best thing to do here.
Your mum might just be worrying about getting old, some people do start to think it when they're fifty. You're as old as you feel and plenty of fifty year olds can look fantastic and be in fantastic health.
