Scene: I dont want my baby, ok I changed my mind

Scene: This mother gives birth to a baby and she realizes that she does not want it. So she goes to a firehouse and leaves her baby there, she is under protection from safe haven laws. A couple of hours pass and she realizes she made a huge mistake and wants her baby back. Should she get the child back?

She should have to go through psychological screening to insure her mental stability. Checking her income and housing situation would also be wise.

Someone who ditches their baby and then wants it back could be suffering from an illness. Eventually she could go over the edge and possibly kill her baby. She should either leave the baby, or go get the baby but seek medical help (a physician and a psychiatrist).

She should leave the baby, at least that way it has a better chance of living a long and happy life than it would with someone with possibly a mental illness or someone that fears the commitment and responsibility of having a child.

Of course she should get the baby back. A child is generally better off with the mother. Plus legally speaking she will always get the child, unless its proven that she is a danger to herself or child.
