This sounds like the apprenticeship scheme we have here in the UK except its bloody hard to get into one. How does this "job corp" work in the US?

well we do get paid, it depends on how long you have been here, i get about 22.51 bi weekly. at Burdick you can choose from Welding, Auto, Facility Maintance, Carpentry, Office Administrations( My trade :)) Health Occupations Traning, Medical Office Support, and Culinary. You shadow a couple of trades and then choose one. then if you T.A.B.E. out you skip the accademics part but if you dont then you have accademics and your trade.
