View Full Version : Post count with VT Arcade posts

I was thinking: There may be many users on VT who have significantly more posts than their post count says. I was thinking, could the total amount of posts be put in brackets after the post count so that you could see how many posts they "actually" have.
Like, if someone had a post count of 235 and also had posted 137 posts in VT Arcade, their profile would say 235 (372). Just thinking that VT could make a distinction between post count and total posts :P

no this isn't needed :/

post count doesn't go up in the VT arcade for a reason

and I doubt it will be possible

I know and understand why the posts in VT arcade don't count towards your post count. The post count could be kept like that, but it would be cool to also see the total amount of posts users have.

This is a rule so that Jess won't have 20,000 posts.

It just isn't needed because arcade posts are almost all spam.

And because Jess would have over 100,000 posts actually Eric. :)

But if you actually think about it, Jess even now has those 20000 or so posts but her post count is still 10000 or so.
They could keep the post counts like they were but also display the total posts for the sake of it :P

even if it could be done, it would just be extra clutter on the forum, at isn't needed.

Well obviously if it's difficult and bothersome to do then no reason to because it isn't needed, but if it's just a few clicks it could be worth it :P

but, the post count is really to show how much respect you get. unless you spam. like... nevermind.. but.. yeah. four letters should not be counted as a post.

Key words, post count, no matter how you look at it, that new number will indicate the number of posts you have.

Well I believe the post count in it's current form doesn't give a clear indication to how "good" the user is. Seriously, there are many threads someone can post to, on topic, receiving huge post counts but still the user isn't contributing to help and advice for example.
And please people notice my distinction between the post count and total posts. The smile on top of the avatar could still be based on the post count, i.e.. total posts minus arcade posts and the total posts shown as a side note somewhere.

There is just no need for this, and we do not support suggestions that are just there "for the sake of it".

No one needs to know that. Seriously, it's unnecessary, rep answers that question.
