The Perception of Love

I guess this is aimed at heterosexual people... Why is love between a girl and a boy cute and beautiful but me being in love with my best mate (a guy) seen as foul and disgusting? As a heterosexual person how do you feel when you see a male same sex couple and if that feeling is negative why do you feel this way? Complete honesty please. I can deal with hate.

No hate here. However I harbor plenty of pity for the close-minded people that can't accept how people are. It is there problem to suffer with; not understanding. There are always people that will reject you for a difference between you two. Oh yea, and its cute because psychologically we like to feel accepted (hetero-single by hetero-couple = fitting in). Back when I thought I was 100% straight I saw a gay couple and, to me, it was novel.
I wasn't grossed out or anything. It was odd to me. A kind of anomaly. To that extent I couldn't say whether or not I approved.
Now, though, I'd probably think its cute.

i agree...seeing a same sex couple was very odd and really different....people were confused and when people get confused....they dont like it and lable it bad....then they tend to go look for reasons on why its so bad and make it worse...

I have nothing whatsoever against homosexual couples. Some of them are pretty cool people, only time I don't like it is when they make their sexuality the origin of everything that makes them who and what they are, stuff like their worldviews, what they wear, etc, but I don't like straight people who are the same way either. I don't enjoy seeing people making out with anyone of any sexuality, never have, it's just not a very flattering picture. I suppose that for me, it's a personal thing, and I prefer such things to be kept personal. Otherwise, I don't give a damn, none of my business.
