So was cutting today, and i did loads down my leg. But 3 of them bled a lot more and a lot longer than usual. It was pouring down my leg and bled for about 15/20 mins.
I never cut bad or deep, but i just did it worse than normal. And i was so scared.
And im not sure how bad they need to be before they need medical attention.

I know none of you can tell me what to do on the basics of this but i from what ive said does anyone have any suggestions?

I think that it might have been just a bloodier than normal cut but just to be safe, why dont you call healthlink or something? You dont want to take that risk of having it actually be to deep and you having not gotten help.

Hi Beebs

If you think you've done damage to yourself that is more than just skin deep it's always best you get medical attention. If the wound isn't dangerous but just bloody etc also remember to disinfect it - and infection is normally worse than the actual cut!

And I know it's hard to do but try and use that fear that you felt to inspire you to think twice about cutting next time? Sometimes that had worked for me. Stay safe :)

I doubt you need medical attention if it only bled for 20 minutes, it's when it goes on for a long time and doesn't look to be stopping you should worry.

Its a good idea to get together a first aid kit if you don't already have one, with antiseptic, wipes, bandage, gauze, tape etc.

And don't hesitate to call someone, or go into a drop in centre, or A&E if you are worried about it being too deep, or dangerous better to be safe than sorry. :)
