okay so there was this guy in our school...like he was a real soft guy and he didn't like to hang out with guys! like he had no guy friends only girl friends but he was like real soft...like he had this soft voice and like a drama king and stuff...so the guys started thinking he was gay...he had a real bad time! after a while I realised we were hurting him! so i stopede the guys from saying stuff! but they never listened! i hit this one guy that called him gay and laughed at him! he didnt know i was helping him but i did! he is really scared of me but i changed and then we went out the school...i tried to talk to him on facebook but he ignored me! i try to help him but he doesnt realise it! what should i do? my friends keep picking on him because they say he gay! but he isnt! just really shy...any advice on how to try and talk to the guy and tell him i helped! i really need it

First off Ill say your friends can be jerks but I thank you for changing. I would just message him and say you talked to your friends and told them to stop picking on him. Or if you are around when they are making fun of him stand up for him. Tell your friends to stop and show him that you don't make fun of him anymore. Hope this helps :D

Do you really need the recognition? I could understand trying to be his friend but recognition isn't what you should be hounding him for! :)
