Im normally tech savvy when it comes to PCs. I know what a decent gaming pc is, but not a clue in a decent gaming laptop.

Would this be able to handle WoW and new games, and not need upgrading for a few years?

I'd rather have a gaming laptop due to portability, rather than a gaming desktop, even though I know desktops are much more powerful.

Rule 1.

Don't buy a laptop.

Rule 2. Don't buy a gaming laptop.

But if you must,

I would suggest at the least a Gtx 560m graphics card wise should provide steady frame rates.
Processor is fine, make sure the ram is expandable to 16Gb.

I have three computers.
A desktop for game programming.
A desktop for gaming (Which is a Windows Vista)
A laptop for everything else.
------
Laptops aren't very reliable for gaming...not enough memory.

What's wrong with using a laptop?

A laptop would not be as powerful as a desktop, and would not cool sufficiently if you do serious gaming and high temperatures.

Also in a few years, if you need to update - its generally easier and cheaper to buy the necessary part for a computer rather than a laptop, which in most cases would require a brand new system.

What operating system does it have?

It will run Windows 7 once I have built it, just waiting for confirmation of parts order then delivery :D

I wouldent go AMD atm, Intel is far better in terms of performance.

Why AMD? If you can afford it, drop 40-50 more dollars on a 2500k or 2500

If you MUST do AMD, go for the newest socket (On par with the 1100t when it comes to performance) Get bulldozer.

So if you knew all of this why did you want a laptop?

I went with AMD so I could get better RAM aswell, and due to me only on a strict budget - I opted for AMD so I could have the Hyper-RAM which is better performance wise for gaming.

Upgraded to Bulldozer Eight Core 3.1GHz 8mb Cache AM3+

Yes I know,

But not the money I have.

Plus This Setup with AMD, allows me to have better graphics, for the money I have.

If you were planning on a decent gaming laptop that would run you a lot more money. As to the person who said "Get Asus" Don't do it. I've had way too many problems with ones I've had to fix.

I use a HP G72 and it it does well with my games in ubuntu OS running with wine compatibility layer on. My Ram is a basicy 4gb chipset, and its as slow as hell in windows. but runs fine in ubuntu. my Cpu was orginally a single core Pentium running 2.30GHz but HP game me a freeupgrade to a Pentium Dual-core 2.30GHz x2 so now im happy ^_^

My old one was Asus and was perfectly fine, just had to sell due to moving and money issues :/
