I was wondering, if I was to pirate an xbox game, put it on a dual layer dvd, would I need to mod my xbox because some have said no and some have said yes. Also if I made an account for playing offline without connection to xbox live for my pirated games and used my real account to play retail games online would I still be caught?

Thanks in advance :)

You can not play live offline and you do not need to mod your x box but I suggest for better software to play on:cool:

No I meant have one account to play retail games online and have one account to play pirated games but offline so I'm not connected to xbox live.

Yes, of course it is. But some people don't believe in buying software, for whatever reason.
On a side note, please keep it on topic: helping the OP or not posting.

You will most likely need to mod your xbox. If you're going to mod. Just buy a second xbox to keep offline at all times if you pirate *that much* you run the risk of your console being banned from Xbox live.

Ah ok, thanks for the advice guys. To go a little deeper on what 'The Matrix' said, I believe in paying for software but when we're in a economic climate like this and garbage games are being released all the time you have to be careful when buying games. I only buy games if I knew they were going to be good e.g Skyrim but most of the time I torrent and find that the game is a bag of crap so I saved myself £40.

Try gamefly then. That's a legal way and the makers do get at least a little bit of profit :)
Edit. Not sure if it's available in the UK

The only way I'm aware of without modifying your 360 (hardware wise) is to flash the optical drive of the 360 so it can read copied games, which breaks Microsofts agreement and if your 360 is caught online when MS do those checks of theirs then your 360 will be banned.

This. Microsoft does do checks every few months, but there are many websites that get tips when Microsoft is about to do a security sweep. On the days that they do the check do not play any of your pirated games until the check is over.

I suggest Xbox360iso (http://xbox360iso.com/) if you're going to be doing any modding/pirating. I go on all the time and is the best and most reliable in my opinion. And it's free.
