so im turning 18 next week. ive never sent nude pics before, mainly bc its illegal for a minor.
but now that i'll be 18, and technically an adult, they are legal, right?
i still am not sure if i would send them though
what do you guys think: would you send nudes once your "an adult"? does it being legal at that age change anything, in your mind?

Well, judging from your pic you could totally make a living off of your body, I mean, damn boy!
(Don't send me any! don't want to get banned xD)

As for morals, it's fine for a 16 year old to send pics IMO. I don't get why we are such prudes..

Cos it could get you, and the guys you're sending them to in big trouble. Especially them.
But, as you're (turning) 18, there's no problem for you. Once you cross that barrier you can do whatever you want with your nudity.
Be careful though because sending pics to a minor may get misinterpreted as soliciting, and that's a pretty bad charge.
So yeah, keep the e-sexing between adults.

Well. I must say that i'm guilty of videoing my boyfriend on skype lacking a few articals of clothing. but this is because we live in different continents, and only get to see each other on breaks. it is illegal, and it personally bugs me that once you send a photo, you can never get it back (which is why i only videoed.) i do think its better if you are an adult, because it is legal. but i cant really speak.

Oh god, never. Doesn't matter If I'm 16, 30, or whatever. But I'm very private, it's just not in my morals to in any way take pictures or video or whatever or let someone else do that. Even if it wasn't going to be seen by anyone else. When nude pictures of yourself don't exist, then there's little possibility of them ever getting out, obviously. So you don't even have to run the risk.

And the idea of what people could be doing to a nude picture of you... ugh. You just don't fucking know. You have zero control over it. Never take them in the first place, they'll never get in the hands of someone who'll spread them, never be seen by anyone. I just think it's disrespectful to yourself unless that's your goal in life. < coming from someone who's so anti-abstinence.

Depends if you care that they might get sent around to tons of other people

Bear in mind that it's still illegal, even at 18, in some countries (states?). Personally I don't think I'd ever send fully nude pics, I wouldn't want my body open to the eyes of the internet. That said though, my boyfriend has sent nude pictures before.

Interesting one, just do what you feel comfortable doing. In my opinion if someone wants to send nude pics they should be able to, its there body to do what they want and show who they want, even if they are under 18. Society just needs to get of it's high horse on these issues and relax.

This ^

Actual laws against it and punishing people for doing so is just ridiculous. They know the risks themselves.

I guess i feel like its not that big of a deal.
I am not ashamed of anything and i wouldnt have a nude with my face in it just to keep some sort of privacy
I guess its a personal decision to make, depending on whether one feels like they might later regret it
And i never knew in some states its still illegal
Thanks for all your feedback

Depends who you send the pic too. If both parties are 18 it should be legal.

I have sent nude pics to boyfriends of mine before, but it can be scary when you're not sure who they're going to show or where its going to go.

well I would be fine with sending them at any age, but I kinda wanna become a famous singer (I know farfetched) and if somebody was to come out with those it would destroy any chance I have so...yh not gonna do it XD

i have traded before but dont do it often and under 18 shouldnt cause it is illegal. however if your 18 or up and the person you are sending them to is also 18+ then its legal. just got to trust them. or atleast hope you can...

Always a bad idea... IMO... Once you send that message you have no idea where those pics will end up. Wy would you take that chance? Just let em see you nude in person... It's safer haha

The most significant thing to know is that if the pictures are ever released into the public domain you can never make them private again.

Some people are fine with that, others not. Career choice can come into it too - some people get paid to pose naked whereas for some careers it would be a disaster. Imagine running for president and someone gets paid to put your pictures on the front page. Or becoming a news anchor, a judge etc.

I really dont see why people find it that big a deal. lol lots of things are illegal its not like ur gonna get caught and i thought sending it to a mate after ur 16 was legal coz private use isnt pornography.. Im probs wrong tho :L still dont think its a big deal :)

It's distribution of child pornography. If you are a minor - under 18, then it's illegal.

Wut?

I agree that a lot of illegal things are done, a lot of which can't be easily proven or it's difficult to get caught. Such as under age sex, that's not even frowned upon now. I do fail to see how it's not likely that they will get caught, what if a friend/family member uses the phone while the pictures are still there, what if the other person decides not to delete them, what if the other person is a total dick and considers blackmail - the last one is a bit drastic but it's happened before so why not again...?

Or decides to send them to a few friends, who send them to a few other friends, ... Not good...

It's legal at 18, and honestly the odds of getting trouble for sending them under the age of 18 are very low, though still possible. I wouldn't do it though, it's out there forever, and even if you trust the person you're sending it to you never know who's gonna get ahold of their phone or computer.
