View Full Version : My theory of human sexuality

Yes, I realize that this is most likely wrong, but from my experiences, it is true.
Ok, so my theory on human sexuality is simple: Everyone is bisexual.
Every single guy has wanted/wants to try it out with another guy, every girl wants to get it on with another girl, and once they try it once, they want more! Why? Because it FEELS good. So why isn't everyone bisexual? Because of this little thing called social standards.
During the mid forties, homosexuality was made out to be a sin. Did you know that the concept of anti-homosexuality in the bible was not added untill 1946? In fact, the catholic church did homosexual marriges often, untill the middle ages that is.
The reson everyone is not bisexual is because they need to feel normal. All the straight men I have met have talked about sex with guys, felt up other guys (If only in playful ways), and showed displays of affection to other guys. Some may say that this is just messing around, but I think it is a subconscious way to release homosexual feelings that have been driven down to the subconscious level by the media and enviroment of the home.
If people stopped conforming to the sexual standards (Men do ruff n tuff jobs, while woman cook and clean) we would see the fear of having homosexual relationships slowly dissolve. When people see homosexuality for what it is, Love (Or in the case of meaningless sex, fun) they would stop bickering!!
Question for you guys: What is ANY diffrent from having gay sex, from giving a backrub to another guy/girl depending on your sex.
Nothing! Lets take it to the basics:
Sex: Two people doing somthing with their gentials for pleasure. (Or reproduction)
Genitals: Body parts
Backrubs: One person rubbing another to make them feel good.
Hands: Body parts
So what do we get? Two body parts rubbing together for pleasure.
So, if you take out the fear of genitalia (I know im going to get a lot of " A HAND AND A PENIS AREN'T THE SAME" responses but whatever.) and accept that it is just another body part, break down the social taboo of sex, and take out sexual standards, what do you get?
A world where bisexuality is not only accepted, but the norm.

"Everyone is bisexual." Freud said the same thing.

You get a world full of horny bunnies fucking whatever walks.
It's not fear, by the way, it's called pudency and it's what gives humanity to the human race.
Besides that, the idea of everyone being bisexual is interesting.

A surreal world in which we do not live. Taboos surrounding sex and sexual standards are a natural thing, without which the world would be completely different. There are some very small factors that seem to make sense in your theory, but ultimately it doesn't make sense because the world isn't as you wish/think it is/was.

I understand and respect your view, but I must disagree.
I am not, nor could I ever realistically see myself being, emotionally attracted to another male. Sexually? Perhaps. Emotionally? No.
I would NOT have sexual intercourse with another male, it's not something that I'm at all interested in doing AND my parents fully support homosexuality as does my family, friends, and community. There's a large gay population near me (I live in New York) and yet I still don't wish to commit these acts.
There's nothing wrong with being attracted to either gender but it's simply not for everyone.
THE ARGUMENT:
Although this, in itself, is TRUE, it's an unfair example. We, as humans, have a psyche that has been in development since the begging of our races life. We have been wired to be attracted to the opposite sex for very specific reasons. There's a reason why guys are physically attracted to breasts and that's because when we see them, we know that that girl can nurture and care for our child. When girls see muscles they subconsciously know that we can protect them.
Case and point, sexual attraction isn't solely based upon physical sexual urges but also subconscious needs and desires.

Homosexuals aren't conforming... How do they exist in this world where the only reason for people to be unisexual is to conform?
Also, studies have shown that homosexuality is usually closely related to the ammount of hormones a person has. The less testosterone and the more oestrogen a man has, the higher the likelihood that he will be bi/gay.
Another thing is evolution. As a rule, the genes which cause people to be attracted to the same sex or even both sexes would be less likely to be used for conception (for blatantly obvious reasons.) and, thus, would not be as prominant in today's society.
One moral reason why I think that this utopian bisexual society is a questionable idea is that it deprives people of the right to a sexual identity. I'm still struggling to decide what my sexuality is but when I do I want to make it a part of who I am and be proud of what it makes me. One could argue that the only reason we have such a desire for a sexual identity is because we've always had it but, then again, the same could be said for oxygen.

You've got the sexuality part spot-on. Sexuality in it's most basic form, really, you're right. There's no orientation to that. But there's the emotional part of sex (i.e. sex may give relatively the same sensations from gender to gender, but do I necessarily want a guy fucking me? No) and the emotional part of a relationship.
I think everyone has the capacity to love both genders, just in varied ability. It could be .01% 50% 99.9% whatever, but there's always SOME capability I believe. So bi? No.

I feel like most people are bi, but not everyone. And there are different levels to their sexuality, both emotionally and physically

(thanks for posting this, if you've seen my most recent thread, i needed a distraction)
while you sound confident in this belief, i have to disagree....not everyone is bisexual, you are basing your theory on the simple basis of animalists feelings, physical. And as humans we have the ability to discern our animalistic feelings or instincts(primal) from our more modern survival feelings or instincts(modern)
Now, your initial statement, "Everyone is bisexual"
Impossible...
now, while physically it would seem so...
Have a guy watch m/f porn for, oh say...1 hour every night, for a week. let him masturbate or whatever...
then show him m/m porn, and i promise you, 100% of guys you do this too...will have a response. (in other words, if they don't have a full blown [no pun intended haha] erection, they will have increased size in his penis)
this is because, our subconscious remembers the m/f porn, and how he felt to see that male doing that to the female, (because while watching porn, people view themselves as one of the people, for straight guys, it is the guy) so the sight of 2 males, your brain thinks, that's two times the pleasure...however this doesn't make someone gay, this just means the brain is relating 2 completely different types of porn together, and causing a reaction.
The topic of genes...have you ever hear of epigenetics? its recent, however I am studying it at the moment. When the population is great, Epigenetics may take over, and cause the switch to either turn the need for reproduction on or off...
if you go on the topic that the amount of hormones produced causes it, well, if you have water in a plastic container, and it sits there, and you drink it, you could be injesting estrogen, doesn't make you gay...and males produce more and more testosterone as they age, why don't they become "un-gay"??? everyone has estrogen and testosterone, however not everyone is bisexual...
if there needs to be more information, just ask :) i'll keep an eye on this thread

Being bisexual and being curious are two different things. I can see where you're coming from, but your theory is wrong, kinda...

I Agree In A Way. . . I Think That Most People Always Have A Sexual Feeling About The Opposite Sex, But I Don't Think All people Have An Emotional Feeling Towards The Opposite Sex. But I See Where Your Going. . .

I kinda agree. I personally believe that almost nobody is 100% straight.
I do believe it's possible that everyone is bi. Is it true? Probably not. If it was I would be the happiest girl in the world!!

you have brought up an interesting topic here, but i am inclined to disagree with it. I can see the points you are making and although they are valid, the situations your propose are utopic in nature as just because a boy has thoughts about as boy a few times in his teens, does not make him bisexual for life.

Oh hey Kinsey Scale. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kinsey_scale) Not many people are on the extreme ends when they truly look at themselves objectively and remove any bullshit that society pinned onto it.
I agree with you in that sense, however I don't think everyone is bisexual. Plus, the implications of the term "bisexual" are fundamentally incorrect anyway. It implies that there are only two genders.
