Why is it that boyfriends/girlfriends or even potential bf/gfs usually assume you want to kiss them, have sex with them, or something like that? It's happened before when I was with a guy but we broke up after he wanted to have sex, and there's a girl I really like now but I get the feeling she thinks I'm just after her basically just for her body. Please help! Why are they always this way and how can I deal with this?

i honestly find this quite annoying. since majority of people act for sex it comes to people that if it has happened before they tend to think that everyone will try it (based on my experiences) i'm lucky to have a girlfriend that realize that i want to be with her because of who she is and i thinks also why we've been together for 2+ years. i haven't found any solutions to this except prove it that you don't want to be like others.

Girls can be like that. They think all the guy wants is sex and stuff. You just have to explain to her that you are okay with not doing that and want to try to have a long term relationship. For a guy im not sure

The main purpose of being defined as a gf/bf is for the physical aspects. If you're not interested in the physical side, why wouldn't you remain close friends?

Relationships are NOT for the sole purpose of the sexual things but they are expected to come along EVENTUALLY.
