The other day my friend asked if I was going to prom and I said that I didn't have anyone to ask. She said to ask anyone but I said that I still didn't know who to ask.I asked why she was asking me about prom and she said because this was the first year that I could go and she was saying that I should go (I think she went to prom last year).

Later that day I asked if she was going to prom and she said that no one had asked her. (this is in november actually on thanksgiving and prom is in may) so I said what would you you say if I asked you. She said "of course. I wouldn't say no". And so I asked her (through texting) and she said that I needed to ask in a cooler way.

Would this mean that she wants me to ask her and that she will say yes, just she wants it to be in person other than through a simple text (or in some other creative way to ask her)?

Also what way should I ask her then?

What do you think she meant when she said "of course. I wouldn't say no"?

Does that mean yes or just that she didn't want to say no but that she actually means no?

hmm I think it means that she intends to say yes, she will go.
asking via texting isn't great, I agree with her but I don't think she expects you to do something unusual, just try to ask her in person. if it doesn't work out then you will be sure you need something supercreative :)

Asking someone out over text is... no. She wants to go to prom with you, and she wants you to ask her. In person. Don't worry about making it huge and fancy, just ask her. Simple, "Hey ______, I was wondering if you would like to go to prom with me?" Good luck, lad.
