This morning I had 3 reputation points, then I posted my opinion in a thread and I suddenly have -154. I'm kind of confused because I was not rude or mean or anything.

How many points are give for positive and negative?

Do people commonly neg rep you just because they disagree with a post?

Rep, on this forum, is a measure of how much people agree with you. If someone disagrees with what you said, they'll neg-rep you.
Don't worry about it, it's just a number. If you feel that what someone said about you was mean or inappropriate, please take it up with an admin.
Or, if they signed it, you can ask them why(if you want).

From the looks of it, someone with a high rep -repped you.
