Yesterday my mom got us a Kindle Fire.

what do you have? a Kindle or a Nook? In your opinion, which do you think is better? :S

The new Nook can do a lot more than before, but the Fire is an actual tablet. It really depends on what you're looking for. If you want mostly an e-reader type tablet with a few extra goodies, get the Nook. If you want a nice, middle of the road tablet, Fire.

I dont actually have either, but if I had to choose, I would say the kindle- but only ones with eink. I think it really cool that it has no glare, uses outer light rather than a led, and that it can last to about a month. The only thing is reading at night, it can get tricky and thats where other readers with led come in, but they can also have strain on the eyes.

In short - Kindle with e-ink

The 250 dollar nook. The SD card slot, a little more ram and a little more storage is worth it to me instead of the 8gb Fire

Though only a small amount of the onboard memory on the Nook can be used for things other than Barnes & Noble store products or eBook. (Like pictures and videos).

I dont have either but I would get the Kindle Fire, heard great reviews about it.

It depends on what you use it for. If you want an e-reader with a few games and videos, the Nook Color/Nook Tablet or th Kindle Fire is best. If you want it purely for e-reading and nothing else, all the other Kindles or the Nook Simple Touch will do. There's also the Kobo and the Sony ones too.

I personally like the Nook Simple Touch :D

i have a kindle touch lol i use it for books thats why i got it over the kindle fire

I've got what I think is a third-gen Kindle, and it's pretty great. The e-ink makes for little to no eyestrain and amazing battery life. Actually, the thing's absurdly reminiscent of the Guide from Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, or at least how I picture it in my head.
