Never used one, but I don't consider them any more real than any other spirituo-religious activity.

It's spelled Ouija, and of course I believe in them. You'd be retarded not to, Parker Brothers has been manufacturing and selling them for decades.

I've used a lot of them. It's conflicting for me because I have a lot of evidence from past experiences that they work, but I very strongly don't believe in an afterlife. :S

I don't think so. I think a lot of the things people think are 'spirits' can be explained. For instance, the hand movements are not being moved by spirits, they're moved by the person, it's just that they're moving their hands subconsciously.

I believe in them, due to how many times I've used them and gotten answers to questions from my grandmother who died a few months before I was born, so..

Don't people think that if ouija boards actually worked it would be an incredible scientific breakthrough and researchers would be working on its validity and method round the clock?

I guess it's moving because there are usually more than one person during the spiritual seance and one of them is moving, another thinks that the board is moving itself and so on. I'm not sure if it works. When I was a little younger we drew such board with friends and then gave up on the seance so no idea!

I can't really take Ouija boards and dowsing rods and stuff like that seriously. I need something a bit more substantial. I watch Ghost Hunters, the technological bit is easier for me. Not that I even believe in ghosts, but that's the only show I can really watch and actually scratch my head over. Not even video evidence is fool-proof, but it's at least more solid than the rest. You'd have to actually experience an Ouija board to be able to believe it, since, when you're like me and have never used one, you have no choice but to sit there thinking "They could so easily be just moving it by themselves."

I don't really know. Even if they did, I'd rather leave the after life alone, ya don't want them possessing you or whatever.

honestly I think it depends alot on how ddeepley rooted religion and beliefs are in you. If you strongley believe in an afterlife you might accept small coincedenses as a message from the other side. but if you dont have it that deepley rooted or are curious you usually llok for answers to why something happened.
I personally have not tryed to mess with a Ouija board and I dont plan too only because as myself I am afraid of the outcome because no one will know it their is an after life until you die.
I agree with Syvelocin because I watch ghost adventures and its more believable because it was "captured" on tape. Although I think alot of people confuse simple things with the supernatural

From what ive read a spirit will usually lie to gain you trust worthiness and then take over the board

K, this may sound crazy... but sometimes when you believe in something, it really does make it happen sometimes. Like if I say that "IT'S GOING TO RAIN TOMORROW, I KNOW IT WILL, BECAUSE I AM A GOD." and then it does happen, does that really make me a god?

K, when you expect something to happen, and it happens, you will most likely believe that it was what you thought.

Same principal applies.
1. You think something is going to happen.
2. You make it happen.
3. YOU'RE A BELIEVER HOLY JESUS PRAISE THE OUIJA BOARD GODS

explain.
A placebo is a simulated or otherwise medically ineffectual treatment for a disease or other medical condition intended to deceive the recipient. Sometimes patients given a placebo treatment will have a perceived or actual improvement in a medical condition, a phenomenon commonly called the placebo effect.

Just as Rafiki says:
Saying something over and over again doesn't make it right. People have beliefs because they make them comfortable, they have grown up with the idea or just because they want to. People also have different beliefs cause they have different life experience and ideas about the world. That's what makes the world diverse.
