View Full Version : I keep fainting...

So, here's the story...

I had never fainted in my life, except until a week ago. I fainted last Tuesday, but I just shook it off as a one off thing and tried to forget about it. I never told my parents, because they'd panic and come to silly conclusions, you guys know how it is I'm sure. So, 2 days later, I was at a concert (Children in Need Rocks Manchester), and halfway through the show, I fainted again. I never fainted from being warm/crowded/dehydrated, because that day I had drank 5 bottles of water, the crowd was very spaced out (it was televised so we were told not to crush together) and, I definitely wasn't "too warm". I've never fainted at a concert before, and I've been in extremely stuffy and over crowded concerts where a lot of people have fainted. If it helps, I do tend to get bad head rush quite often, but I can't think of anything else to tie in with it...

Does anyone know what's wrong with me? :what:

Had you eaten properly before it happened? Like is there any possibility it could have been low blood sugar? Even though the crowd might not have been too closely packed its still probable you could have over heated but you'd know best seeing as its your body. The only thing i can think of is blood sugar in that case.

Your choir stance is wrong, you locked your legs, i know it, happens to many in my coir every year, it happens to even some of the most experience singers like myself. When you lock your knees you reduce the flow of oxygen to the brain and it causes you to faint, talk to your choir director, he or she will be able to help show you correct stance, so much easier than trying here.

Sorry that I assumed that, it is just your stance in general, when you stand you need to not lock your knees, have them slightly bent. There is a lot more to this but in your need anything please PM me, I am about to leave so I am doing this rather quickly, date tonight!!!! and Black Friday shopping, fuck yes!!!!

Haha, thank you for your help, I'll make sure I do that next time! I'm going to another concert on Monday (Rihanna!), so I'll definitely keep my knees slightly bent so it doesn't happen again.

Good luck with your date and shopping!

U said u get headrush sometimes. I get that too but really really bad. I get it every time I stand up and I've blacked out an unhealthy ammount of times lol but I think it might be low blood sugar levels too. I find that if u feel dizzy and get fuzzy vision just sit down for a second or two or hold onto something. And I'd recommend seeing a doc just to make sure nothing is wrong :D

Do you have hypoglycemia, insulin resistance, or any thyroid problems?

if you start to feel faint or dizzie lay down putting your legs up on a chair to increase blood flow to your brain !!!

And i would advise seeing a doctor to check that there isnt anything wrong aswell
it could also just be a one of thing that has happend together a couple of people i know have panic attacks and faint or just faint and these can be weeks months apart :)

My guess is that you haven't been eating properly, or you locked your legs. Basically, when you stand up and feel your legs lock in place, your cutting off massive blood flow and on stage, that's not a very good thing to have going on. Less oxygen gets to your brain and down goes the Titanic, it's nothing to worry about, just try bending slightly. You may look silly but it's better to the alternative :P

Have you had your heart checked? Blood pressure as well?
