Today I was in class talking to a girl. She has her sleeve rolled up on her left arm. On her arm i noticed three (about 3/4 an inch apart) cuts. I was shocked at first and asked her where it came from. She said her cat. Cats scratches aint that far apart (+ im not sure if she has a cat). Then She quickly rolled down her sleeve. I tried to ask her more but she got a bit upset and dismissive. I know those cuts are from a knife (from my own past experience) and i want to tell her not to do it and possibly talk to her about it more. Has anyone got any ideas on what I could say to her? I just really dont want her going down that route. Even though she is not a best freind of mine she is still a bit close so i care for her safety

I guess you could try telling her that you know they're not cat scratches, and that you'd like too help. Do it somewhere where no one else will hear though, and try not to make it sound as though you're dissapproving, or blaming her, that'll only push her away.

Maybe try texting her, or talking to her online? She might find it easier to talk to you if it's not face to face. :)

yeah...mabye like tell her you had problems too...then mabye she would open uo abit more...usually when you tell people you know self harm that you know how they feel they wuld trust you because they know you know how they possibly feel...i personaly talk to people that SH easier because we understand eachother more...mabye its the same for her
