I would say it is because people like certain things. If you are both comfatable with it then I dont see the problem. Just kinda weird tho

Well it depends. I mean mama and daddy are used a lot of times as a reference for male and female. I say "what's up mama?" to some chicks I know as a greeting type of thing.

Also, during sex or anything physical the terms are used to show a bonding as well. Like a lover's term for lack of a better way of putting that.

Now if you mean in the paternal sense then I would say it's strange.
