Okay so I didn't know whether or not to put this in the ED section or here. But it's a medical question so I figured here would be okay. So I was diagnosed with hypoglycemia on the Eating disorder unit, and today I didn't eat, when I stood up after taking like a 6 hour nap i blacked out. I usually am able to see if I wait or start walking. So I waited and started to walk and fell backwards and hurt my back by hitting it against the metal part of the bed. Afterwards I got dinner, but i still feel shaky, dizzy, and now I'm a bit nauseous. I ate a 1 slice of swiss cheese on a toasted sub roll. It was a small sub roll. I also had 2 bites of a cheese pizza for the sugar and calories, and then a ate a very small cup of chocolate ice cream thinking the sugar would help. I also had 3 carrots. And drank tea, and now i'm drinking sugary coffee. Is this my hypoglycemia or my lack of food that made me balck out so I can correct this in the future?

It probably was from low blood sugar. I have Low Blood Glucose (Hypoglycemia) and i have passed out before because of low blood sugar. I would advise that you eat something if you get a headache or you feel bad during the day. It always helps for me. Good Luck!!!

Okay, so there is your first problem, you did not eat, you need to be careful about this.
When I stood up after taking like a 6 hour nap i blacked out. I usually am able to see if I wait or start walking. So I waited and started to walk and fell backwards and hurt my back by hitting it against the metal part of the bed.
You need to get your back looked at then.
Okay you had way too much and your body could not handle the over-load. You took in to much sodium and carbohydrates and then on top of that you ate the ice cream (That is a no-no dear) and the sugary coffee is not helping you.
Is this my hypoglycemia or my lack of food that made me balck out so I can correct this in the future?
The lack of food affected your hypoglycemia and caused you to black out.
Here (http://vsearch.nlm.nih.gov/vivisimo/cgi-bin/query-meta?query=Hypoglycemia&v%3Aproject=nlm-main-website) is an amazing site that explain hypoglycemia to you and also calling your physician would help, he or she will want to know that this happened, especially if you are newly diagnosed.
This (http://diabetes.niddk.nih.gov/dm/pubs/hypoglycemia/)website also has information about the diet for a reference if you scrawl down the page.
Let me know if you need anything else.
