Right, so like many people we all know that the iPhone 4S comes with a new "Built-in function" called "Siri." This was a massive upgrade from the original app-store app and can do many tasks for you just by voice. But us Android users were a bit pissed-off with Siri, since Apple seemed to clearly take Google's Voice Search and, well, make it better. So all the developers have made their own personal assistant at the android market, and these 5 are the best that i've concocted.

For about 4 of these you need the PICO TTS (Text to speech) engine
AND THESE ARE ALL FREE (Currently)

5) iris. (https://market.android.com/details?id=com.dexetra.iris&feature=search_result)
(Yes, it's siri in reverse)

Emulates partly a siri-style interface, but as of now has limited functions. For example, the others can do simple math, but when I asked iris to do 2+7 it replied "Use a calculator."

4) Vlingo (https://market.android.com/details?id=com.vlingo.client&feature=search_result)

Comes with voice-activated "car mode" which allows you to say "Hey Vlingo!" then say the command.

3) Jeannie (https://market.android.com/details?id=com.pannous.voice.actions.free&feature=search_result)
http://img33.imageshack.us/img33/4389/jeanniet.jpg
Lacks a GUI, has many different functions and is the only app to input events into a calendar without fail.

2) Skyvi (https://market.android.com/details?id=com.bluetornadosf.smartypants&feature=search_result)
http://img822.imageshack.us/img822/2866/skyvi.jpg
Emulates a siri-style interface. Looks messy but can do many jobs and recognizes speech well. Skyvi usually doesnt ask for confirmation, which is a good AND bad thing.

1) SpeakToIt Assitant (https://market.android.com/details?id=com.speaktoit.assistant&feature=search_result)

By far the best out there. You can make a little avatar that you talk to, and if it doesnt recognize you correctly, you can manually type in the question, something SIRI CAN'T DO! It will also respond with your name if you type in "My name is ____".
