I always hear about how people look at their scars and think how ugly or disgusting they are. I'm not surprised people think this because it may remind them of a bad time.
But when I look at my cuts and scars I find them to be really quite beautiful. For me they hold evidence of my past struggles and current ones, and that is really significant to me. Maybe I'm crazy. It's not beauty like "oh look at the pretty landscape." It's a very grotesque beauty, like looking at a piece of abstract, modern art.
Maybe I'm the only one; but does anyone else find this grotesque beauty in their cuts and/or scars?

I love my scars, I wouldn't give them up. It's kind of a problem though, because I'm going to get upset when they fade.

I have really different opinions. On one day I'll be horrified by them and just want them to go away. But on another day they'll be so pretty to me and I'll want to make more. And then again on another day I'll be accepting of them I won't want more or less I'll just live with them. Eventually I hope every day will be like the third option.

I have a somewhat twisted love for my scars. I am reminded of the pain, but it's a pain that I fought through. They're like emotional battle scars. I'm never disgusted by my scars, some days I may be ashamed, but my scars are certainly a part of me. I get what you mean about them being like abstract art, they're very expressive.

As others have said, I go to either extreme. In one way I guess i'm almost proud of my scars. I don't really want them to fade.
The next day i'll just wish they weren't there, and I'll hate them.
I guess it depends how I look at it.

This ^^
It all depends on my mood.
One day, I'll wanna add more, too which I give in.
Another day I'll be fine.
Its a delicate balance.

I'm learning to live with mine. There's a couple I hate because they're bad but I can use creams to fade them. The others aren't worth the effort though. They're a part of me and I don't really care if people talk. I survived and they're battle scars. I wouldn't give them up.

I've recently gotten a tattoo for my self harming past/present, and what not. So I know what you mean. When I see my scars, it's not that I'm proud, but I like them simply for knowing they're just a marking of problems I've perhaps overcome (or something).

Same as how I feel about them. I love both my scars and cuts, the idea of them even fading is kind of scary.

I have mixed feelings about them also. I like them one second because I feel I got what I deserved then the next minute I'll hate them completly because the scaars are just another imperfection I hate about myself.
