Yes, i know that African Americans weren't the only ones in history called the n-word but I'm talking about the use of it in modern times.Word is usually associated NOW with a lower class race; mostly Black people with exceptions( Middle eastern people have been called sand n***as aswell)

I personally feel that white people shouldn't use the word.Yes, I know it's a form of censorship and that no one should prohibit what othesr say but listen to my reasoning which has come from older, more intelligent people.

Why would you continue to use a word that hurts people for your know gratification? If you know that a homosexual person had problems or ill feelings with being called a faggot, what would be your reason to purposely say and then hurt someone? Would you go to an Asian person and pull your eyes back and say "Ching chong chang!" just because it was funny for you? Would you want to be call a word you hate by others who couldn't understand your situation( i.e: emo, cutter, retard, crazy,femi-nazi, fag, loser, white trash, poor, dirty,whore/slut, dumbass,devil worshiper,fat, ugly,etc). I'm not asking for you to agree or disagree with whatever but can you at least have the human decency not to degrade someone because of race, ethnicity, religion, sexual preference, etc and show a bit of tolerance?

Some say political correctness is taking over the world and that people need to "suck it up", but why would you- as a presumably kind and caring human being- want to cause more harm to someone for some selfish reason?

This leads me into another reason, white people can't be called the n word and hurt by it. If I, a black teen girl, went to some white person on the street and called him/her the n-word, their day wouldn't be thrown off.That word holds no power over him/her and can't possible bring anything more then discomfort.At worst, in histroy nigger lover has been used to hurt white people. (Still, the world hurts black people because it says that any self respecting white person would never lower their standards and like,be kind to, be attracted to, live/eat with a PoC) But if it was reversed, it will alter my life in a big way.

For white people, that word doesn't hold the same poison as it does for someone like me. Really, what word can I really ever call a White American( American is key for this part) person that will hurt them? I really can't answer that question properly because I'm not of African-American heritage, although I can relate in so far as being called a paki is concerned, it doesn't bother me that much at all, but that's probably because it doesn't have as long a history to it and less shit happened.

I know you yourself are offended by the word "nigger" but from what I've seen, the majority of fuzzy wuzzies aren't. Many people just go "Yo, wassup nigga" as a way of showing the person that they're accepted and equal. If you can call a black person a nigger and call white people and asians niggers, too, well, nigger just becomes another word. A word that can be used like "human."

If we took away all the negative connotations attached to the word "nigger," it would no longer hurt. If everyone used it for everyone, it wouldn't be exclusive to the "black discrimination."

Thing is, most people don't even realise what they're doing. How are you meant to know the word is offensive if the person doesn't say so? So far, every person I've offended by using the word "nigger" has been white.

"Nigger" is no longer the same word as what it used to be. It's hardly a form of degradation now. It isn't! For most people, anyway. Most people -do not- use the word "nigger" to make people feel like shit. It's like how kids use "gay" for absolutely everything. Does this necessarily mean they're homophones? Of course not. Okay, I have to ask this. Why are you offended by the word "nigger"? It has nothing to do with -you-.
