How old were you when you finally got your license/permit?

i'm only 14, but my sister got her permit when she was 15. She has been 16 since April, and doesn't have her license yet. She needs proof of insurance before she can get her license.

Got my permit at 16, then my license at 16 and 8 months.

Simply? She doesnt want me to. I think she's trying to keep me from growing up. She keeps using insurance as an excuse.

Honestly though? She's holding me back. I want to get a job, and in my current leadership education position at the sheriff's office, every next step for me requires that i have a license. She's screwing me over royally. :/

got my permit on my birthday when i turned 16 and my license exactly 4 months later

I got my L plates at exactly 16. Got my P plates in September, after failing the practical examination twice. It's really hard to get your license here.

Got my permit as soon as I turned 14. Had that for 6 months. Now I have a restricted permit and am driving by myself. Basically it's a license except I can't drive between 10pm-6am. Get my regular license at 16

except that it's a permit and not valid anywhere outside of sd. i am very glad i live in a place that does not allow 14 year olds on the road alone, i must say.

I got my provisional Jan 2011 so I was 18, still haven't got my full license im trying to fit lessons in with my studies which is proving to be difficult since you've got to do two exams here; a two part theory exam and a practical driving exam. I should have it by February though hopefully.
