So who all listens to a variety of music compared to just one genre? I know plenty of people who will sit there and say, "Oh, that's screamo, rap, country,etc... that sucks!". Personally, my Ipod ranges from death metal, pop, country, foreign music, classical, opera, you name it it's on there. :D

I can't fathom or even begin to understand people who only like one or two genres.

I'd say my taste is pretty diverse but among that taste I have a few favourite genres.

I listen to some stuff from several genres, but I stick to the "rock" genre generally.

Well, I guess anyone will have a genre they will listen to more than others, but some people just bash everything that isn't the genre they listen to.

I mainly stick to one genre, classical music. I do like several other kinds of music of different genres (maybe a little country?)...but most of the time, it's classical music...

I guess I have an eclectic taste in music. I mean, I mostly stick to rock but I love Immortal Technique, Illogic, Jedi Mind Tricks, Aesop Rock and other rap artists, other than that I have an affinity for music from other cultures (Central Asia, Middle East, East Asia, South Asia for the most part).
Oh and I've somehow developed a taste for that piece of shit Merzbow, what the fuck man, I'm a mentally sane person as far as I know.

I have issues with NOT liking enough artists in the same genre. People will show me an artists that is a lot like one I listen to and I never like them. I don't know. I have issues with iTunes recommendations and stuff like that because they suggest bands that are way too similar. My music taste is as bipolar as my brain chemistry. Never liked a country song though. Or a mainstream song. Before you catch me there though, I have liked rap before. Never mainstream rap however.

Actually, I have that problem too. Sometimes bands, or artists, just sound way too similar. When I start having trouble distinguishing bands is when I draw my imaginary little line.

I have to say, I am a little judgemental when it comes to music genres. If you ask me to listen to rap or metal, I'll say no. However, there are some songs from those genres I do like. I like some variety in my music

Well mostly I listen to rock music, but I also listen to Country, electronic, metal, pop, 8-bit (lol, it's actually amazing!). I personally prefer Pop Punk/Punk because I really like upbeat songs with catchy lyrics and cool guitar riffs.

I listen to a fair variety, I always refuse to listen to metal or any sort of heavy rock, I also hate the likes of "the Beatles" and "The Who". Although I sometimes have to listen to it because I'm a DJ. Without a doubt though all kinds of EDM I love (especially hardstyle, trance, glitch anything with the sort of tecchy feel to it

It depends on how you look at it. I mostly listen to rock, but I will listen to ALL rock. Some people limit themselves to sub-genres, which is even stupider than limiting yourself to one genre.

I'd have to say I've got some of the
most eclectic tastes around. My computer is littered with pretty much everything ever. Name a genre, and I've got it on there, save for superheavy death metal.
I mean... Dubstep, "Brostep", DnB (I <3 Subfocus), Trance, Glitch, INDUSTRIAL (Sex, Drogen, und... Industri. If you can name that artist I will love you for ever), Techno, House, a little bit of Country, Mainstream pop, Soul (Florence + the Machine!!!!!!!!), soft rock, hard rock, alternative rock, psych rock, raprock, Alternative metal, Metal, a bit of rap, hip hop, some jazz, a bit of classical... I think that 10000+ songs is a bit much for any one man.
Top 5:
1. Florence + the Machine (I absolutely LOVE her!!!)
2. Combichrist
3. Red Hot Chili Peppers
4. Skrillex or Bassnectar, it's a toss up
5. Breathe Electric or Mumford or Coldplay
See, eclectic. I also like Deadmau5. Lovely.

The genres I mostly stick to are the Metal, electric and rock genres, along with their sub genres. I do like some acoustic and pop (poprock, powerpop. It's pretty good). I generally don't like anything of the rap/hip hop genre. I've listened to it before but it just doesn't appeal. If I do listen to rap its not that popular mainstream rap (Mac Miller, Wiz Khalifa, Lil Wayne, Soulja Boy, Ace Hood, ect. )

Mostly a mixture of Progressive Metal, Hardcore and Post-Rock with a healthy dose of Dubstep/Drum and Bass.

I'm quite eclectic, but there are some things I wouldn't touch.
Alternative, metal are my favourites.
