So, does any teens like The Beatles? Is it just me? D: I hope I'm not the only one because most teens now listen to Katy Perry or Lady Gaga or whatever and I'm wondering if anyone likes 60s-70s music like me?!?

I was raised on classic rock. If it weren't for the band Styx, I wouldn't exist; it's the only thing my parents had in common when they first met.
Even though my musical tastes have evolved into heavier things like symphonic metal or 90s grunge, I still have a soft spot for classic rock, especially The Beatles. I have a couple Beatles posters in my room and I have tons of old vinyl that my parents had when they were growing up.
But, getting back on topic, YES. I really fucking love the Beatles.

Love the beatles. My parents are really old, so I grew up on music like; the Beatles, Fleetwood Mac, Queen, Van Morrison etc. When I was younger I used to just listen the music. Now that I am older I realised that most of, or all of their songs have double meanings. Influential stuff!

I cannot stand The Beatles. I have no clue why but I've really always hated them and I don't get why everybody under the sun seems to adore them.

I love the Beatles, BG's, Bread, Kanas, Korn, Styxs, and all the other great bands but I do also listen to Lady Gaga and Katey Perry, I personally adore a huge spectrum of music.

Dude.. What the hell? You don't have to go on dissing everything just because you don't like Beatles. If you don't then just leave the thread, please. You just embarrass yourself man.

You are certainly not the only one, i may be a newcomer to the brilliance that is The Beatles, but i do really really like them as a band. I never really 'got' The Beatles for the longest time, until i decided to lie down on my floor put on one of their many albums and listen the whole way through.
I love the simplicity of their songs, combined with the great message behind them. A truly great band, wish there were more similar artists today.

Just saw Beatlemania Now, a tribute band. Nothing really compares to the Beatles themselves (except maybe Across The Universe), but they were pretty good.

Am a fan of their work, absolutely. Not my top 10 but certainly better than the majority of bands. Good music, and some incredible men forming that group, have no problem in them being considered the biggest band of all time.

yeah they're all right. i dont know anyone who doesn't like them. the only problem i have is that i really dont like the nature of pop music. it seems to me that with most pop artists, the beatles was a lot about the money. not to say that they weren't one of the most innovative bands of their time, but i think they're a bit overrated.

The albums are classics but they're just so incredibly overrated. I got the full collection after my girlfriend had me watch Across the Universe and turned me on to them in a way my dad has failed to since I started listening to music, no artist is as good as they get credit for.

My school thinks im stuck in the 60s 70s and 80s since I like anything thats old. Well my S.S. Teacher has a weekly blog we have to do. this weeks was about whitney houston this is the exact question he asked:Interesting blog this week. I was taken aback by the death of Whitney Houston, arguably one of the pop icons of the 1980s. Some of her songs have been around almost 30 years, with kids your age knowing her music. I'd like you to think about contemporary musicians who you think will have that kind of staying power. Give your opinion and tell why you think that person will be known 30 years from now. and this is my reply:Mr.Cheran all im going to say is The Beatles. One of the best bands ever. they've been around around for more than 30 years and they're still known. Oh yeah and the other ones Queen, Van Halen, Led Zepplin, and Johnny Cash obviously.I could name a few hundred more but i dont really feel like it. The beatles have been around for more than thirty years and Im 100% sure they will be known for another 30 because i will never forget them.
And heres some beatles pictures that i have:

Im not not stuck in the past. there was music that was horrible(atleast to me there is) But most of the music pretty good and id rather listen to it than this new synthesized crpa which comes out of a machine. Back when the beatles were getting starting you needed talent to make music not like todays music that sucks(personal opinion dont take to seriously)

In the past (specifically the 20s-ish through the 70s-ish), the music that was mainstream was more sophisticated, interesting, creative, and musical than the mainstream music nowadays. Obviously there was bad music during that time, however there was more "good" music that was more widely exposed. If that made any sense.
