butt smell

I bent over just now and got a whiff of my own butt. I'm wearing basketball shorts but no underwear. My older brother is here with me and he smelled it too. It's not a fart and I did shower this morning and haven't gone to the bathroom since yesterday. Is this normal or is something wrong with me? My brother says it's happened to him before too.
