WARNING: This may sound stupid :P

Well, I am basically listening to music all the time. I don't know why but it can help take my mind of things when I'm feeling depressed. Anyway, what happened is, My last pair of headphones broke and I couldn't listen to music. This was during a particularly bad day, and for some reason I just started freaking out.
I started breathing really fast and my heart was racing. I felt like I was completely losing it. My family just seemed to think It was funny, but I was really freaking out.
When I calmed down a bit I just sat in the corner for ages still feeling really weird.
So, was this a panic attack? Why did it happen? Has this happened to anyone else?

It isn't stupid.
Alot of people suffer from attacks for different reasons, me being one of them.
I can see why you did though. Music seemed like a very calming thing to you, so when you couldn't listen to it you freaked out, as well as having a bad day.

Have you ever had these before?

I completely understand that music is my life as well. When I do not have music, I kind of get all antsy, I have realized to always have a few pairs of headphones around just in case.

Sometimes walmart and target have skullycandy earbuds on sale for 10 bucks.. and they are super nice... headphones.

Thanks, I feel a bit more normal now ;) I occasionally get like that when something happens but it's pretty rare and I can normally cope with it.
