Well, I really want to tell my therapist about my cutting and my suicidal thoughts. I finally think I might be able to. But I've been reading about it on the internet and I've discovered that if you have a suicide plan and the means to perform it they can involuntarily put you in a hospital. Well I have both of these things and I just want to know what the policy/law is in regards to this so I know what to expect. By the way, I live in Australia.

If you are an immediate risk to yourself or someone else, you can be admitted to a hospital. However, with my experience, you can tell your therapist about your cutting as a means of coping and that shouldn't be enough to have you admitted. They'll then probably ask if you've thought of suicide and if you have a plan or have attempted. If you answer honestly, I would prepare for a stay at a hospital. But you never know, it could be the thing you need. No one on this site wants you to be unhappy and suicidal, getting help and being honest is the best option.
Best of luck <3

Thankyou, I think thats what I'm going to do. Now I just have to get through another 6 days until my next session D:
EDIT: If anyone knows what it's like in there if you are admitted, I'd appreiciate any information you can give me.

It depends on the doctor that you. Most of them will talk to your parents, others will bring your parents in along with members from the mental hospital and they will decide if they want to bring you in. I can't say for sure what is going to happen.
But think of it this way, whatever happens, happens for a reason. If you need help, the psychiatrist will make sure that you get it.
