This is absolutely beautiful. I was chosen to sing in the choir for the Belgium musical festival and I really hope we sing this. I doubt it, though.

I'm a bit of a Tchaikovsky lover. Probably because I used to dance ballet and you know... It's Tchaikovsky. The Swan Lake ballet performance I saw was absolutely stunning. But the music reminds me of Harry Potter...

I used to like this song but now I can't listen to it without thinking of this:

Unfortunately, many of Bizet's works were and are overshadowed by Carmen.

Oh and thanks for making this thread. Love the songs you picked, by the way.

Dvořák, anyone? I know it's not technically classical, but romantic, but how about his Symphony N° 9 'From the New World'? (Each link is a different movement.)

I love the New World Symphony. But I really like his American String Quartet.

Moonlight Sonata was the shit when I was a kid. My goal was to learn the third movement. I lost interest and never did.

Anyone that knows me well will know that Feldman is my favorite composer of all time. Pure fucking genius. Brings the minimal idea of "less is more" to another level.

Shostakovich's Symphony No. 5 in D Minor, 3rd and 4th Movements (my favorite movements). The whole piece is grotesquely amazing.

And my absolute all-time favorite piece of music ever fucking written Rachmaninov's 2nd Symphony in E Minor. I have a thing for Soviet composers. The whole damn hour-long piece is just so incredible, but I'm only posting the 3rd movement. It's one of the very few things in the entire world that can actually make me cry. The clarinet solo at the beginning is just ethereal, and the buildup in the strings starting at 5:00ish and leading into the greatest moment in the ententire symphony at 5:42 which pushes towards the climax at 6:28ish. After the climax, it dies down until 7:05, and then moves on in a different--but related--direction.
Fuck, I love this piece.

If you have the time, you should certainly listen to the entire symphony. It truly is a motherfucking masterpiece.
