they just dont understand

heya my name is Alice iam new on here i owned up to self harming quite along time a go and i stoped for 2 months but i started it again and i told teachers and my grandma and mum but they dont understand how bad it was can you give me some advice or something please thankyou xxxxxxx

I was in the same boat, it may take them some time to understand where you are coming from. I'd just be honest with them, it took my mom some time to understand that I was bi and also self cutting, but I think she's either over it or understanding hard to know which.

Try talking to a therapist. Oftentimes they can act as a buffer between you and your family, and they may be able to explain it in a way that your mom and grandma are able to understand. For me, my therapist has helped me explain a lot of stuff to my mom in ways that she can understand. It's worth a shot.
