Been wanting to make this thread for a while now. I can't resist. I was going to wait until Imaginaerum hit.

So, I've long-since grown out of the huge European symphonic and power metal phase I had four years ago. But I heard the new single and I'm very excited. Though it's not my music, I was still moving to it like I used to with metal music. Not surprised that I'd preserve the Nightwish obsession of all the bands I listened to.

So I've got Imaginaerum pre-ordered to ship from Finland when it's released (it's coming out in January I believe over here. I'm not waiting) and I'm hoping to go to a second one of their concerts when they get over here eventually. My first Nightwish concert was also coincidently my very first concert. So I got off on a good foot you could say.

With what's to come, I've been so anxious for this album for the last year or two since they announced it, the full film and everything that goes with it. I've missed Tuomas's genius. I had Tarja's album to tide me over but it simply does not have that Nightwish feel that I've craved in the time between Dark Passion Play and this album.

So, cue the fan nonsense here. I'm sure Nightwish is probably the best known of my very favourite artists. Well, I've noticed Nightwish is half as popular, if not less, in the US than it is in Europe, but I'm sure there's got to be quite a few people on here who will help tide me over the next couple weeks.

It's a shame that Nightwish and other European melodic/symphonic metal groups aren't very well knows over here (Within Temptation, Epica, etc.). I fell in love with Nightwish after listening to The Poet And The Pendulum. I'm a classical music buff and a metalhead, and that piece appealed to both of those sides of me musically. Tuomas is a pretty good composer.
I just saw the video for Storytime yesterday and got SOOOO excited. I need to go pre-order the record. I've seen some of their concerts on YouTube and it sounds like Annette really sucks live, so I doubt I'll be going to any of their concerts. Eh, who knows.
But yeah, I'm insanely excited for Imaginaerium.

Oh no, that's just the recordings, trust me. She was completely epic when I saw her at the last US show of the DPP tour. I didn't like her much until that concert, I was a huge Tarja fan, but I adore her just as much as Tarja now. So I definitely suggest you go.
