Well I'm not British so I can't help you out with that, but go talk to your schools counselor. Tell them what you'd like to do. They are there to help you.

I'm in year 11 so hopefully this is useful.
You can do 1 or more A-levels (your choice completely), depending on what you plan to do during/afterwards:
If you plan to go to university afterwards the more A-levels the better. (Grades help as-well) or even if university isn't on the cards it will benefit you.
If you plan to work part time while studying, doing any number of A-levels will improve your job prospects.
If you plan to apply to college do it soon, before courses fill up or to at least show interest.
Have a back up plan. Talk to somebody at school who will be able to give more specific advice.
May I ask what GCSE grades your predicted/obtained? (PM me if you like) It will help me better understand your situation.
Me personally:
I will have obtained 8 or more GCSE's at grades B and C, so have decided to stay at my school's six form college to do 3 or 4 A levels and then I plan to see where that takes me.
I hope you find this useful.
