I've always been open with my sexuality around my friends, as they all "came out" long before I did, but I've never been one to just tell people I don't really know intimate things about myself... And when I rumour went around work that I was a lesbian (long story) people started asking. Now the majority of people at my workplace know my orientation to be bisexual...

I find this thrilling, in a way. Most people in my city, even my state, are very accepting of this kind of thing, and now that everyone knows about me it's like... whilst I have always just "been myself", now everyone can see who I really am, I guess?

I find that I'm more open to females than I ever have been, whether this is just a normal transition or because of the acceptance, I'm not sure. I do still prefer males, but now I see real hope for me someday having a girlfriend.

I've never been so happy =)

So now I want to know - How did you first come out to the people in your life? Friends are generally easiest, but do acquaintances know? How did you feel about their reactions? I'm interested to know about your experiences =)
