View Full Version : Anyone know how to fix the black level of a video?

I have this music video that I watch a lot, and it's got horrid black levels, the only way to fix it is turning on my monitor's dynamic contrast, which fucks up everything else, so I was wondering if there's a way to actually fix the black levels within the file.

The concept I have makes it seem like it should already be doable: Some software plays through the whole video, looks at the darkest few shades of black (with a tolerance of course) and makes them black, very dark grey, and dark grey respectively. Kind of a gradient effect, and then it'd go back and make sure the contrast isn't all screwy and try to fix it.

Any way to do that?
