View Full Version : Bush hate?

OK so in math class today (yes the ranting girl who hates religion and ROTC is at it again) this time with a new target. George W. Bush.
Before I go into it, let me just say that he wasn't the worst President, but he wasn't the greatest either. But I still give him gratitude for serving as Commander in Chief.
Anyway, ranting girl pretty much went on how Bush is the devil and evil it's self (contradiction since she is atheist and does not believe in God, yet she puts the label 'devil' on a single person. a logical paradox i presume?) And how Bush caused 9/11 (yes she is one of those "wack-o's" that think's Bush was the true mastermind behind 9/11) and killed millions of people. She also blames him for single-handedly bringing us into $15 trillion in debt and claims he was worse than Hitler and Stalin combined.
So my thing is, do people really think Bush was the worst President ever? (Well there are a lot of people who think that, but I'm thinking they must be on crack or something to think a single person destroyed America by themselves.)
What did you guys think of Bush, do you all hate him to the point where you blame everything on him like ranting girl, or he wasn't that good but you still respected him regardless?

He definitely was the worst president of the United States. It came as a gradual, chronic shock to the world how asinine and unbelievably stupid he was and yet given the most powerful position in the entirety of this planet. I don't blame everything on him, I just couldn't believe that someone is that bad at decision-making.
Respect him for being Commander in Chief? Yeah, really? Is that serious or are we just- trying to, crack some kind of joke here?

You know what? I'm tired of Christians and Republicans getting attacked on VT. People think that we can't accept them, well look at Christians and look at their rep count. Yeah, that's right. I bet I'm gonna get a bunch of people neg repping me because I am saying how I have felt since a long time ago.
I will accept you, if you accept me. It's as easy as that, VT.
Sorry for the rant.
Anywho, yes, even as a former Republican, I can see both sides, and I feel that even though Bush was doing his best, it just wasn't best for Americans.

VT means no harm,it's just a little biased. I went to a Catholic school,I was looked down upon for being agnostic. It's every where. And to be honest,a lot of people on here who claim themselves as Christians have a lot of troll like features, or are just radicals.
So it's not really the group of people believing what they want being attacked, but the group of people who are in your face telling you how immoral and un-Godly you are.
Now back to the real issue. I wasn't very impressed with Bush when he was in office, and looking back I'm still not impressed. I think people have a right to be angry at him, causing a war that NEVER needed to happen. And for that, I'm no where near happy with him,so I can see why people hate him or don't like him.

First of all, nobody is personally attacking you (in this thread anyway). So chill.
Second of all, the fact that Bush was a Christian has nothing to do with this, as does the fact that he was a Republican. It comes down to the fact that he was a shitty president. Nobody said anything about "oh all those Christians/Republicans just suck ass."
Sure, you might feel that way, but this thread is not the place to be whining about it, because it's virtually irrelevant to the topic.

Woah-ho-ho hey capurnicus, no one's attacking you man.
And, even if you feel this way, it probably isn't best to post it so that everyone can see, you're only asking for neg reps and hate that way, which we all know is not groovy dude.

No, no, no, no. Andrew Jackson and Hoover were much worse. Bush wasn't that bad, but by no means was he good.

Anyway, that bitch be suffering from bitch-itis, so just don't even listen to her. She has her mind set on one thing and let her do it. You have the crack pot libruls and you have the crack pot conservatives. Come down to my neck of the woods and you'll have the people who think Obama is the worst president ever and he's an evil communist, socialist, Muslim, atheist, foreigner who was born in Africa.
Also, saying someone is the devil (http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/devil) has nothing to do with religion. Don't be so ignorant.

True, but I just thought her logic was a contradiction seeing she does not believe in a supreme being and claims everything about religion is delusional, yet she calls a single person the devil.
Don't be so ignorant.
I don't think that was ignorant at all, and I really think this part here was not necessary.

I wasn't aware of his policies until after his presidency, so, I'm just judging on what I've heard about him. First off, I think he handled 9/11 pretty well. Do I think that he actually masterminded it? No. That is just so unbelievable for me to believe, if anyone has solid evidence to say that he did mastermind the attacks, your welcome to PM me or post it here. The problem starts with Iraq, we invaded the country for oil. Them having nuclear weapons was false, they may have had them in the past but they didn't then. And you have the whole economy thing, but, I don't know much about that so I'm going to pass up on that discussion. All I know is that he and his father both left office with the country in recession.
Peace God

It seems like you have a lot to say about this girl and her views. Maybe you should tell her your stance on these issues. She seems more than willing to discuss her opinions.
Or just write her a book, you're almost half way there already.

He didn't cause the death of thousands of Native Americans and wage war on a bank and send us into a panic. Andrew Jackson directly fucked up the economy. Bush did it indirectly.

But instead Bush waged a war that was completely unnecessary, and thus caused the death of many, many Americans. Plus, Jackson got put on a dollar bill.

I wasn't really talking about the thousands of Americans, rather the millions of Iraqis and their country, even though.. they had nothing to do with anything. Plus, the invasion of Afghanistan even after the Taliban agreed to negotiate. Now look where America stands with the Muslim world.
As far as Jackson is concerned, what he did was terrible but also in the context of his own time. Europeans had invaded what is now 'America', so ethnic cleansing was inevitable.
It kind of shocked me at how badly Bush handled the situation as a whole, especially when the American government was at least perceived to be very sophisticated at the time. You'd have thought that it wouldn't fuck things up that bad. But, under Bush, it did.

the worst president that i can think of is Nixon. I dont know much about Jackson sorry. but even though Bush might have screwed up he had a lot to deal with and in a lot of cases he would have been hated with almost any choice he chose. And for those of you who think he's an idiot well he got elected president so what does that say about the majority of american citizens?

Actually, incorrect. He didn't get the popular vote in 2000 so I can't say a majority of Americans are idiots.

How the hell does Obama rank worse than Bush? Just because you may not like him doesn't mean he's been a bad president for the country. He's had to clean up the mess that Bush made, and that's not easy. Andrew Jackson was definitely worse than Obama. Not to mention, Jackson was an asshole.
