To be abstinent or not to be abstinent?

Are you abstaining from sex until marriage? Why or why not? Additionally what do you count as sex and "just messing around" and when is it appropiate?

I'm "abstinent" the reason is because I'm a very devoted christian and I made a promise to my Mother my father my family and My lord in heaven to stay pure. I where a purity ring to show my dedication. And plus to me I think sex should be something reserved ONLY for a husband and wife. But penetration is sex and I would have some naughty fun "if I had a gf" but not full on sex.

I honestly doubt I'm going to stay a virgin until I get married, but I do think you should only have sex with people that are special to you, and you know they think the same way about you.

I don't really see the point in abstinence, honestly. To me, sex isn't anything special; it's just another thing that we do as a species. I don't have any religious beliefs restricting my actions, so whatever happens happens. I don't plan on ever getting married, and I also don't plan on going through life without fucking. Soooo.

I dont have any relegion, and I dont have many morals either, we are put on this earth to reproduce, and maintain the species. Would you go out and buy a car without a test drive? I don't think so, so why not go out and see if your sexually compatable with someone?

I'm not sure. I'm pretty young and I feel like I have a few more years to think about it. If I feel like I want to, I'm just going to trust my instincts. Abstinence seems like a good way to go, for me at least.

I think if there are no serious issues against sex before marriage then it's better to have it than not because who knows? maybe a partner you are with has serious problems with sex and serious issues about it and you don't know and after the final move - marriage - you will have to face it.
