Biological Agent: VX
VX (S-[2-(diisopropylamino)ethyl]-O-ethyl methylphosphonothioate) is an extremely toxic substance whose only application is in chemical warfare as a nerve agent. As a chemical weapon, it is classified as a weapon of mass destruction by the United Nations in UN Resolution 687. The production and stockpiling of VX was outlawed by the Chemical Weapons Convention of 1993.

What is your input on all this.
to me its all bullshit really.

I don't understand the point of this thread.

Opinion to what? This thread is vague as hell, and you're crazy if you think anyone is going to read two fifty nine page pdfs about chemical and electronic warfare.

I love VX, it's one of my favorite organophosphate nerve agents, but it's hard to synthesize.
Imho, I think sarin or cyclosarin is better, because it is easier to synthesize, more volatile and less persistent. In urban environments, the use of GB and cyclosarin would be better. However VX is very persistent, so it's good for use in open terrain. Chemical and biological warfare is awesome.
I came up with a synthesis for sarin and cyclosarin not long ago, but PCl3 is probably heavily watched so producing the two nerve agents would be mildly difficult. However, there are plenty of chinese suppliers producing PCl3 by the metric tonne.

Sorry, i'm not reading 118 pages. I looked up the wikipedia article here (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/VX_(nerve_agent)) (side note, i love how diazepan(valium)is in the related articles :P)
It has a feel of oil. It'ed be noticed, i don't see this being used.

You don't need to notice it. The lethal dose is so tiny, the moment you step into the vicinity of the VX (which is usually dispersed as an aerosol in binary munitions), you will receive a lethal dose. Within maybe 30 minutes, you are dead.

That's a charming method to exterminate a population.

Haha it actually is quite genius. Nerve agents work on the acetylcholine system. They make it so there's so much acetylcholine that nerves are constantly transmitting signals. Basically you die because your muscles are so excited that they're paralyzed. You can't breathe, you can't talk and within a short period of time, you're done flopping on the ground like a dying fish. The real difference between VX and G-series nerve agents is just chemical composition which affects volatility and persistence. Pretty much all nerve agents are fatal at any significant dose. Chemical warfare really is quite clever, especially nerve agents and stuff like incapacitating agents.
